Cauliflower Florets with Black Pepper | Keto-Friendly Low Carb Recipe


Some of my friends are following keto diet for weight loss (N.B: I am NOT recommending any diet here as I believe in healthy balanced eating), and they asked me to share some easy, quick, low carb keto friendly recipes. As keto is a very restrictive diet you have to be careful while choosing the ingredients and most of our traditional recipes are either high in carbs or contain sugar, jaggery etc. But then this recipe popped up in my head which authentic traditional kokni recipe but 100% keto friendly! as it contain only a few ingredients that are highly recommended in these low carb, high fat diets.


This dish, as known as Kalimirchi ki Flower, makes a perfect side with Gosht ka Salan, Bagare Rice and achaar, papad, kachumber and is served on dawats in kokni households. Also goes with roti with a meat dish as main course. Yumm! I am already hungry! haha..

Cauliflower Florets with Black Pepper | Keto-Friendly Low Carb Recipe

Ingredients:



  • 1 head of Cauliflower
  • 2-3 tablespoons of Desi Ghee
  • Salt as per taste
  • Freshly ground Black pepper as per taste


Method:


1. Separate the cauliflower florets, wash and blanch. (soaked in very hot water for 2-3 minutes, drain the water and wash well under tap water.)

2. Melt ghee in a pot on very low heat the add in the cauliflower and cook covered in very low heat for 15-20 minutes or till the cauliflower is cooked perfectly.

3. Season with salt and black pepper and serve warm.

Tips: This recipe looks very simple and bland but trust the flavours are amazing and you can feel the authentic taste. Kindly do not alter (ruin ;) ) the recipe by adding any masala etc.
