When it's raining, what everyone wants? Yes! You guessed it right! Pakora! So here it's been raining for last few days and we have had different savouries as tea time snacks. Apart from all the jhat-pat or quick fix snacks there are these few that requires a little bit of advance planning like soaking the beans and grinding etc. These Moong Dal Bhajiye is one of them.
Scrumptious Green Moong Dal Pakora is an easy tea time savoury snack having a simple recipe and requires just a little efforts. I'm sure you will love
the Pakoras with your hot cuppa tea! :)
How to make Moong Dal Pakorey:
Ingredients:
- 200gms green moong beans
- 1 bunch of fresh green coriander
- 2-3 green chilies
- 1 large onion
- 1/2 spoon salt (or as per taste)
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
- 1/2 teaspoon red chilli powder
- 4-5 cloves of garlic
- 2" piece of ginger
- 1 tablespoon gramflour or rice flour (if required for binding or better skip)
- Oil for deep frying
- Chaat Masala for sprinkling on pakora
Method:
1. Wash and soak green mung beans for 6-8 hours.2. Drain all the water from soaked beans and add in chopped green coriander, chopped green chilies, chopped ginger and garlic cloves and grind to a fine paste using little water.
3. Meanwhile, finely slice the onions and keep aside.
4. Take the mung bean paste in a large bowl and add finely sliced onion, red chili powder, salt and cumin and mix well.
5. Now heat oil in a deep frying pan. When the oil is hot enough, pour pakora mixture with the help of teaspoon. Don't overcrowd the pan and let the pakora cook well from all the sides. When nice golden in colour remove on a towel paper. Sprinkle chaat masala and serve with mint chutney.
